- Intelligent is not smart and what not : I did not understand that difference between ‘ Intelligent’ and ‘Smart’ until I heard the words ‘ Intelligent Smartphone’ in a single sentence.
- How to take an entire market segment away from competition : Take technologies that have been built to scale and went beyond mature phase in the past decade. Now you can build a lower priced product using capabilities that can be cost optimised. A segment that cannot afford the latest configuration but desires cool with cost effective is a great opportunity to solidify your growth plans.
- Digital economics for the delayed start : Enter a segment where you can lock-in app users into your own ecosystem – introducing feature phone users to their first set of apps is easier than asking users with established behavioral patterns on dominant apps outside your ecosystem.
- Sentiment is a mechanism of engagement: Mixing nationalism with business is always a great idea when your business relies on the masses to scale or masses who will invest.
- Running a large conglomerate is not unlike running a large multi-party democracy : Your success is not just dependent on getting results but also dependent on the story you tell of your successes; when it is your family business, you must also leverage every opportunity to tell your story as a continuation of time-honoured values and principles from the founder to present day.
- And one last thing…..Apple’s product launch template has become universal now.
