I had some news today. Although not unexpected, it does mean that some decisions will have to be made. Even though I am not planning to dwell - or go into too many details, I will say this; I am in recovery and I need to adapt to a change in circumstances, if only incurred to budget cuts!

During the last few years, I have had the honour of meeting some wonderful people on their own journeys of recovery; and some of the things I have learnt include:

  • Recovery is about building a meaningful and satisfying life, as defined by the person themselves, whether or not there are ongoing or recurring symptoms or problems.
  • Recovery represents a movement away from pathology, illness and symptoms to health, strengths and wellness.
  • Recovery is about discovering - or re-discovering - a sense of personal identity, separate from illness or disability.

For myself, over recent years I have neglected my blog; and am now considering the creation of a new website which incorporates a blog (I maybe able to receive assistance for this).

I have also been neglecting my photography, and I am hoping to purchase a new camera; thanks to a reimbursement I am expecting! Somewhat delayed (I will avoid going into any details at this time), a problem which has occured is that the purchase price has increased; from what I gather, if only due to changes in the value of the Japanese Yen!

Something that this will mean, is that I will not only need to reasses my budget - but to consider my choice/desire for a new camera. The ability to buy a camera is not a magic wand...
