San Diego has pushed beyond just being a hub for 24 hrs party people. (Not that we have anything against students and surf dudes!). The culture of food, wines and microbreweries is thriving; some might say it’s on par with the rest of California.

Here’s the list that captures some of the real flavors of the finest city. Enjoy the rundown!

Galaxy Taco

Located in the La Jolla Shores area this authentic, upscale Mexican restaurant offers mushroom taco, steak taco, fish taco…and the usual suspects such as huevos rancheros and pork huarache. They’ve got great options for vegetarians too! Carefully crafted cocktails will quench your thirst. The decor adds to the coolness. :)

Born & Raised

@ Little Italy. The lobster bisque, bone-in ribeye, American wagyu, foie gras terrine, filet mignon. Protein lovers rejoice — here you just can’t complain about „a ,lot of meat“. Don’t omit the desserts and after drinks list. The vibe in B&R is….well, it’s like millennials meet the Great Gatsby. Stylish!

Whisknladle

DO believe the hype. This place really rocks (again, Little Italy). Clam chowder, halibut, lobster roll, shrimps peel n’ eat, fish taco. Wash that down with some nice coctails and save room for dessert. The atmosphere is always funky cool, lively & loud.
The 360-degree views from the tower are quite stunning

If you want to know what’s fresh now — hit this place @ La Jolla . You’ll find back to basics approach to cooking/fine dinning and enjoy lamb pasta, crab salad, crispy chicken, grilled veggies. The simple stuff with top notch execution. Got to love the rustic vibe!

Blind lady ale house

Vast space on Adams Ave. Looking for an opportunity to hang out in a nice bar and not be cramped? Look no further. Great beer selection, really tasty pizza and a couple of gastropub-like offerings like fries and salads. Family friendly brewpub for a great nite out.

Village Vino

A family owned wine bar on Adams in Kensington/Normal heights. Rose, white, sparkling, red — the wines both by the bottle and glass are impressive . You can’t go wrong with any of their flatbreads either. Cheers!

As for the space, time and safety concerns (especially after a couple of pints and glasses of wine), leave that to Express Rent A Car agency. You can choose from a wide range of cars here, and yes, the pick up and delivery are hassle free. Hope you’ll have a great time in San Diego! Salute
