Way to gloss over your shoddy, likely-libelous, journalism.
You imply in your original piece that the organizers are stealing and exploiting Mexican culture. You also tell people not to support Gringa Loca Art, suggesting that readers patronize other businesses, implying that Gringa Loca is also exploiting Mexican culture. Yet both the organizer of the event and the artist at Gringa Loca Art are of Mexican descent.
You haven’t issued a retraction or updated the Mitu article with corrections, even though several people, including Gringa Loca Art, have let you know of your misrepresentations. Gringa Loca Art has even felt the need to post twice on their Facebook page out of frustration.
You also attack the event for having a “church” as the beneficiary, as if all things religious are, without evidence or argument, bad. Pretty sure those in Houston right now receiving help from religious organizations like Catholic Charities’ flood relief program are happy that people gave to those organizations, whether they’re religious themselves or not. It’s a pretty ugly bit of bigotry to paint all religious organizations as contemptible without justification.
