post ironical. right?))

The main mistake in the study of rationalism is that people start from early rationalism — from rene descartes, or from the late — eliezer yudkowsky. But the main thing for us is to study the nature of rationalism, point out irrational conclusions and show the origin of skepticism and rationality before Cartesianism accordingly BEFORE descartes.
So, rationalism began many centuries before Descartes and even before the Greeks divided a human into rational and irrational essence

Doubt in the nature of a thing is skepticism
Finding solutions or improvements — rationalism

In order to approach this tightly, you must once and forever understand the dilemma of rationality, and it consists in the fact that there is no rational without an irrational “desire” to change something or find a solution
irrational desire is taken from our epc system.

We want to solve the problem. because we approach it from the point of view of the fact that we WANT to solve it. and to want it means to be irrational, machines don’t want anything, they just perform the given algorithms, they don’t have a soul to think about whether they want to solve a problem or not

you need to understand that rationalism is not divided into right and wrong, it is divided into rational with an admixture of irrational (in addition to desire), for example, Karl Marx capital and communism, which is entirely based on his personal moral facts that “everyone should be equally divided” despite the fact that “what if someone wants to have more than to have an equal share?”.
And it is divided into one in which only “desire” is irrational, and everything else is strictly logical conclusions, with facts and evidence, in other words, discarding any moral fact in relation to the object under consideration.

That’s it, I gave you a way by which you can clearly understand everyone you read and begin to correctly determine rationality and irrationality, now let’s talk about the eras of rationality:I divide rationalism into 3 eras:
On modern: everything that was before Descartes.
On the post-modern, in which Descartes firmly approached even skepticism about his existence
And in the meta-modern, in which Yudkovsky accepted that rationality is incredibly connected with irrationality and substantiated his conclusions
For example, as in the same HPMOR, Harry formed himself as a person who was interested in solving problems through science, just in view of the fact that he got into a family with such a father, his psycho-social development formed in him an irrational desire to comprehend the truth of things

thank’s for reading, sorry for my bad english, wish i was helpfull
