IF YOUR TEAM ISN’T WORKING THEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING!

As a leader, pioneer or visionary, if you haven’t done your “homework” don’t bring a team on board.

When starting out, make sure you have sound or valid knowledge on any position you’re about to give to a person, if you need a social media manager, learn the basic of using social media first.

Know how to do the job on a scale of at least 20%.

The goal is, if anyone isn’t available there must never be an obvious gap/space, you should be able to do the job effectively or bring someone who can deliver immediately.

There are two major reasons a team can’t perform appropriately;

  1. A responsibility is solely dependent on a team player and when he/she isn’t available the team’s progress is thwarted (note that competence doesn’t equal availability and vice versa).
  2. The vision of the team isn’t communicated properly/clearly but vaguely (if this is the case, forget about everything else and bring your team to order by communicating the vision in other to embrace understanding).

Before you bring in a team make yourself a team, I’ll explain; run the pages of your brand account, deliver goods yourself, ask for feedbacks, contact the designer (you can be your designer), create ideas you can discuss with a team…there’re a lot of things to do than select names to help you do the work.

If a competent team don’t achieve their goals, then the visionary hasn’t played his/her part well.

The best way to get a team is to attract one and you know you have to have sound & excellent proofs for a competent man or woman to be attracted enough to work for you, so GET TO WORK.
