Unleash God’s blessings in you

Making full use of God’s blessings for God’s glory

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

We are blessed with something that is beyond our needs, or beyond something that we do not deserve. Then, we began to use those blessings accordingly but majority would abuse it.

Of course, pastors, elders or parents would preach on gratitude when it comes to God’s blessings but their sermon would not be clear unless we learn through our own experience of showing gratitude.

There are 3 elements of gratitude:

Being Thankful

As we know, giving thanks to God is the priority. We may show our thankful heart with joy by jumping around, singing praises or pay tithes in church. Matter of fact, the first thing in the morning we should do is to give thanks to God for new day.

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Appreciation

When we receive a gift, we appreciate them. Unless the gift seems un-appealing to us, then we choose to throw them away or give it to someone else. When it seems appealing, we cherish the gift as if it is part of our life.
If we lose them, we lose our life.

Harvesting

When we receive money as a gift, we would do something to keep the amount or increase the amount. We would go for equities, personal investments or start a business. Whatever method we use, we are to
harvest in them.

But among the 3 elements, majority lack in Appreciation and Harvesting.

Lack of appreciation and lack of harvesting are the main diseases among working and young Christians. We tend to get carried away by our own ego and our own desires when we receive blessings.

God’s plan on abundant blessings

1) We should be a blessing to others.

The Bible teaches us that we are blessed not just so that we can feel good, not just so we can be happy and comfortable, but so that we will bless others.

I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others (Genesis 12:2).

2) The more we’re blessed by God the more He expects us to help others.

It does not mean that when we are blessed, we should keep it to ourselves. He expects us to do more when He blesses us more.

Much is required from the person to whom much is given; much more is required from the person to whom much more is given (Luke 12:48).

3) You cannot out give God.

The more you try to bless other people in the world around you, the more God says, “I’m going to pour blessings out on you. We’ll play a little game here. Let’s see who will win. Let’s see who can give the most. The more you bless others the more I’m going to bless you in return.”

4) Help those who are in need.

Are we doing God has commanded which is to “love our neighbour as ourselves” (Mark 12:31)? We are living among the sick, poor, cashless, homeless, orphans and underprivileged ones. What can you do for them?

Conclusion

The Bible speaks so many about His plans for His children to live prosperous and full of joy. Jesus died for us and rose again so that we could live with abundant blessings and allow the abundant blessings to flow on other people. Be the change, be a blessing to many and God’s riches will overflow unto us!

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

God bless!
