Get your goth garb on, because I wanted to make you wish you still had a stash of clove cigarettes for this one. I put four tracks full of chorus under a slightly distorted Fender, all playing some big strums of an E chord. I tried to restrict myself to making something out of just that single chord.

I also wanted the drums to have more thud than snap, like hitting big bags of sand. I paired that with a bass track that rumbles along side, a dark secret weapon of sadness. But never doubt the power of a tambourine to lighten the mood a bit.

Don’t get too down, though — we pick things up again tomorrow.
