I’ve never had a goal

Jack Ma once said something like “if you plan you lose. If you don’t plan you win”.

Is the word ‘plan’ just a synonymous of the word goal in that sentence OR you see planing differently from goal setting?

Let’s say that “without a goal, or an outcome, plans are really complicated do set up” for some context.

(added the quotes because I’ve read this or I’ve heard someone saying it couple of times. Also have followed this a lot of times)
