A lot of thought and planning needs to go in as you plan for your child’s play area. Playrooms are not anymore a space filled with big, brightly colored plastic toys and lacking any design to it; today play areas are stylish and reflects your child’s fun time. They are stylish, fitting perfectly into your beautifully decorated homes.

Here are some guidelines by FabModula, one of the top Interior designing company in Bangalore to inspire you as you design your kids’ playroom!

· Open-plan design

Design the playroom with lots of light entering the space and clutter free. Opt for big fat-weave rug or carpet tiles, so as to avoid hard falls and for a more inviting space. Using fabric tile flooring also makes it easier to replace the piece, as it can easily get stained. Give your young ones ample and flexible floor space for imaginative play.

· Brighten it up

Bright colors and fun color combinations add liveliness to your kids’ play area. Design the walls with wall decals which are easy to replace, as your kids’ taste changes as they grow. Keep a wall for all the painting and sketches, add a bit of your own artistry to motivate your kid to try her hand at it.

· Work station

A big work table with art supplies and sufficient storageis a necessity to cultivate your kids’ creativity. To store the multitude of toys and to avoid a messy space, floating shelves and cabinets can be built. Make them easily accessible to the children to avoid falls.

· Movable furniture

Smaller, light weighing furniture pieces such as soft chairs, bean bags, stools and small tables are preferred over heavy ones. They can be easily rearranged, and taken to other rooms as the kid wants it. Avoid sharp edged furniture pieces to avoid unwanted accidents.

· Classic toys

The classic toys that all kids need to have, such as the dollhouse, lego blocks, play kitchen and food, stuffed animals, board games and books forms the basis of a child’s development into a creative individual. Spark their creativity with ideal toys.

· Display wall

Design a display wall to showcase your kid’s artworks; turn it into a chalkboard or even a simple light colored wall where your kid is allowed to sketch on. Add a bit of your artworks to encourage your child to use her ideas.
