Syllble was founded on the idea that fiction stories have the power to change our understanding of ourselves and change our future. We believe that Science Fiction and Fantasy done right in collaboration is the most powerful tool to broaden our collective moral imagination, heal our past and create a just and Anti-racist society.

We affirm unequivocally that Black Lives Matter. The brutal murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tamir Rice, Eric Gardner, Philando Castile, Alton Sterling, Delrawn Small, Dominique Clayton, Walter Scott, Natasha McKenna, Bettie Jones, Atatiana Jefferson, Eric Reason and countless other African Americans are a manifestation of rampant systemic racism, white supremacy and the legacies of slavery in the United States. …

The majority of Americans are stuck in their homes during an election year, and they’re beginning to recognize that the American system is neither invincible nor exceptional. Like a Windows 95 operating system seen from our time, it used to be novel but no longer cuts it. COVID-19 has revealed deep, structural problems at the very core of our country.

Amongst these afflictions, the respective wealth and healthcare gaps are most salient. 30 million Americans have filed for unemployment. According to the U.S Department of Labor Statistics, this is one of the highest recorded in U.S history. Racism against Asian Americans is surging, and the U.S. …

It seems to me that creativity and a free society are unequivocally linked. A free mind, a free person, one able to master his or her inhibitions and those irrational drives, those things by primal nature in their rawest material forms in the psyche that always presents themselves, but also those drives designed and influenced by a society that values many things, and today most greatly, a person’s utility, to be sharpened eternally as a tool and to be used, to serve a specific function, yet in the process condemned to that role, to that play forever and to that being useful, as appose of taking full control of themselves and manifesting all the natural rights they have been afforded into existence. …

You are now about to embark in a thought-provoking adventure through our community that I hope will be a life changing experience for you. You are committing to giving birth to an entirely new fiction story in this world with others you have not met before. How can this possibly happen? Especially with Fiction writing in literature being always a solitary journey?

For myself, writing is a deeply personal and intimate experience. I feel safe and excited. I am always in my head with my imagination, my logic, my knowledge and my personal worlds. Sometimes when I do get to the rarity of trusting myself to be vulnerable enough to let go to oneness and truly create like a child, it gives me great joy to express myself creatively through syllables. Yet, sharing that work with others is scary — putting it out there for people to read and absorb is troubling! and what is even scarier is receiving feedback. What if someone criticizes my work? judges me and disagrees with me? or worse, what if I have offended them? Am I a perpetrator? Well all of this doesn’t sit well with me nor does it feel good at all. …

It was a crazy idea to apply to Y Combinator Winter 2018 Application Cycle. We didn’t think we would get in and indeed we didn’t and that’s ok. We learned the valuable lesson of putting ourselves out there.

Nothing ever happens if you don’t ask, if you never step up and raise your hand. Nothing ever happens if don’t lay some form of consistent action forward while doing and trying something different than you have done before by co-creating with this universe. All of this is truly essential in building out opportunities that can bring new lessons, grow your business and making a difference in the life of your customers in our case our creative writers and the creative industry. Yet building out this habit requires a great level of discomfort and truly fighting million of years of evolutionary force that often pushes towards the ‘comfortable’ and resorting to doing things of ‘familiarity’. This constant state of discomfort is almost like building a muscle, the more you do it and practice it, the more naturally it grows and becomes second nature. …

At Syllble (A creative community and collaborative Marketplace for writers), we are focused on building and finding the best culture and iterating the best possible process where writers, storytellers and people from all walks of life can collaborate through our collabRoom (MVP) production teams while harnessing their imagination and creativity in an unfettered way. The power in collabwriting lies in using the brain power of many people to look at a specific issue or idea than one person, it’s faster, more fun and yields better and faster results. In today’s sharing economy connecting people is easy but finding a structure that removes all barriers to creativity away from fear, time, lack of trust, judgment, experience, and hierarchy is hard. …
