Levi’s is a well-known brand that produces and sells jeans and other fashionable clothing.

The company was founded in San Francisco back in 1853 by Levi Strauss, a German immigrant of Jewish origin.

Some people mistakenly believe that it was he who invented modern jeans and started their mass production.

But in fact, this iconic outfit has a completely different inventor who has an incredible success story.

His name is no longer remembered, but we’re going to remind you.

Jacob Davis

Jacob Jufess was born in 1831 in Riga, Latvia. At the age of 23, he emigrated to USA and changed his surname to Davis.

He settled in New York and opened his own tailor shop.

Jacob moves from state to state where he tries to make good money, but things do not go well.

In 1858, Jacob moved to Canada. Along with thousands of other people, he began to search for gold during the gold rush.
