That’s a really good idea. Only thing is we’re kinda already on the Rudy path, and I recently procured the npm package. I honestly rather have a unique brand anyway. It’s also the sorta thing where RFR/Rudy probably has to become more popular and/or for him to come to the conclusion on his own after reviewing it and really liking it. It’s a big “ask” and he may not feel as assured as I am that “THIS IS THE ROUTER NOW” or perhaps just that I or anybody will be around to support it.

Also, guys like Andrew are busy, and that will happen naturally when it does. A lot of them stopped thinking about routers long ago. A lot of them don’t seem to build “product” anymore, and rather just focus on open source. It’s hard to do both, and I temporarily (and just recently) joined the “oss” crowd. So I’m starting to see how easy it is to lose touch with the needs of product developers. It’s definitely hard to focus on both wholeheartedly at the same time. It’s probably why RFR — as straightforward as it is — didn’t come about sooner.

RFR/Rudy gotta keep on truckin without any dependencies on things that may or may not happen. I think the name, the product itself and the brand we’re about to unleash will likely resonate more than a generic name. With a generic name that already existed people might not really get it that this is a new progressive thing. I think a 4 letter name will be good for us.

Thanks for reaching out by the way. I really appreciate all the support and consideration.

…by the way you linked the wrong andrew clark 😎
