‘One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate on our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.’

These lines completely explain why we can’t reach at our maximum potential is that we never try to be focused on things. We are really distracted by the temptations and forget about our goals. Recently I came to know about a very interesting method of how to stop procrastinating by Pomodoro method.

This idea was really interesting and quite pragmatic. I always struggle to work with focus. I found this technique very helpful. So, I share my amazing experience here:

I had to complete my presentation assigned by my teacher till 12 pm on Wednesday. I had only 5 hours left. So, I set a timer for 30 minutes and blocked all the distracting social media websites for 5 hours. In those 30 minutes, I searched all the stuff required for presentation like the material from different sources. After 30 minutes, I took a break of 5 mins, went outside and drank water and took breath of fresh air. After that I again set the timer for 30 minutes. I had to make 30 slides. So I decided to make 5 slides in each 30 minute timer.

So, I completed all my slides with these 30 minutes timer in three hours and after that I was more than happy as I completed my task two hours before the deadline.

This was really nice experience that I done. I had set a goal in my mind that I have to complete it within five hours and without temptations and distractions, it was quite easy for me to complete my task. I gave myself a treat of ice-cream at the end of the presentation. It feels good that you have done something good for yourself and now you are rewarding yourself. Thanks to Amal Academy, with whom I came to know this amazing idea.
