“HUMANITY”

There are 195 countries in the world, 1720 provinces, 7 continents, 4 oceans with an estimated amount of 7.5 billion people living in it, each of them is related to a different field, profession and skill set, BUT how many of them live as a HUMAN, human in a sense that how many of them have humanity as faith in them, do they Feel empathy and sympathy for people? IF yes, then obviously there is also a huge population who works against humanity, and they are the ones to be highlighted in this discussion.

Humanity plays a very vital role in a persons life, be it the act of kindness, humbleness, calmness or politeness towards every human, no matter the opponent person is a girl, boy, adult, man/woman or aged. A person's attitude towards the other person represents his personality.

Being working as a HUMAN is also characterized into several different categories, it could be in the form of charity, welfare, helping orphan, making old women cross the road, etc. Any act that is basically helpful for the other person by your intentions and actions. There is a wide range of people whose aim in life is to work as humanity, one of the prominent examples here in KARACHI is of LATE ABDUL SATTAR EDHI. His aim throughout his life was to give shelter to homeless people, food to jobless people, and clothes to people who can't afford it. He even constructed a rest home for aged folks who visit there because of uncertain reasons, either they are retired or being ill-treated by their children. The question here arises, WHY WOULD ONE DO ALL THESE GOOD DEEDS FOR OTHER PERSONS AND WANTS NOTHING IN RETURN? Its because they are kind-hearted, they feel for people and maybe they are brought up this way by their parents this helps to make a very fascinating and important personality of a human. Above all, folks start believing in you and they can give a huge amount of charity blindly because their cash is safe and will be used for the people. Similarly, when EDHI Sahab died, there was a huge nation of PAKISTAN standing still in his support and was a huge crowd at NATIONAL STADIUM KARACHI for his last moment as the crowd was so huge that they had to choose cricket stadium for the last recitation.

Moreover, when Edhi Sahab started his welfare he started it with only one ambulance, gradually with the passage of time it became one of the biggest ambulance chains in the world.

There are numerous welfare agencies that seek to help people, but it does not mean that a person has to go with building of large welfare trust every time. He can make it a part of daily routine by spending the only amount of money he can afford to, I have seen people having only a dime but they still feel the pain, the struggle of other people and want to help them. SO, all the credit that is to be counted is the INTENSION, no matter if it is via huge welfare trust or helping someone individually.

Furthermore, the actual hurdle interrupts when there are a vast number of individuals willing to work against this. It can be robbery, snatching, assassination, bullying, stealing the rights of orphans, character assassination, and above all being physically abusing and torturing women. All these are also part of society and are to be dealt in every day life.

According to me, the worst inhuman act is rape, where the girl is physically abused, and most of the time she is lead to death after the crime, there are a huge number of cases on the daily basis, In Pakistan mostly these acts take place in the northern territories where small children are mostly the victim and because of the poor law system the culprits mainly are out on bail. The famous QASUR incident where a small princess hardly having an age of 8 was raped, killed, and thrown in the territory. BUT, this time the nation stood up against this, and the main culprit was arrested who was not only his cousin bother but also his neighbor. Then one the most important action was taken by the government that, the punishment from now onwards of this act will be directly hanged till death, and this was much applauded by the citizens.

If talking about rape, then INDIA comes in mind as well, Rape is the 4th most common crime against women in India. According to a survey being conducted in 2013, there is an average of 24000 rape cases in one year and among all of them, 98% are the one who already knows the victim. (Cousin/neighbor).

Although strict actions should be taken against all these acts and it should be so severe that the culprits should think about it thousands of times before doing it. Similarly, in 2012 JYOTI SINGH incident became much famous, and it was because it was so much brutal that no one can even think to attempt it. She was going back home with his friend and it was late at night. Where they both took a bus, when they entered it there were 4 person present, they did beat both of them, rape the girl and threw them on the road from a moving bus. This is when the citizens came out in protest and it was a huge pressure on police as people were protesting for justice, BUT the case was solved in a very short span of time. All 4 of them were arrested and one of them was actually a minor. Apart from this, unfortunately, JYOTI lost her life in hospital after 2–3 days and his friend was safe.

“Upper picture shows the mother of JYOTI, the lower picture shows the 4 culprits”

The point here rises why the departments do not hold their duties this way every time, why is it that they are being told you have to work on this. You have to solve the case, You have to have empathy for what has happened, you have to be punctual at work, as there are parents, siblings, relatives who have actually some relaxation that department will help, WHY to ignore their desire? The cases are to be solved quickly only when the stand is taken? there are a huge number of pending cases that take years to be solved and some do not even end up with certain solutions and the families of the victim and the victim himself are waiting to get justice.

So, strict laws should not only been made but be followed as well. As these are the actions that will help the people, their self-confidence will boost, they will come more strongly, they will have hope with the departments and as the culprits will be punished sooner they act a crime, the less daring they will be next time to follow the same act. As a result, there will be a reduction in the cases, and there are more chances for declining the percentage ratio of such deeds.
