Going Up and Boosting Your Career

Stairs of Success

I went to a professional who has 13 years of experience in Project Management and he is a person who is literally my inspiration and mentor as well. I shared these 6 Tips with him:

Tip 4: Put your time in: Everyone starts out doing grunt work till trust is proven

Tip 5: Don’t talk badly about the company or about your boss

Tip 6: Take control of your relationship with your boss and team members

Tip 7: Find a mentor and manage the relationship strategically

Tip 8: Join a professional body and build your network

Tip 9: Embrace change and reflect on what you are learning daily

He not only liked my tips but also appreciated the work being done by the Amal Academy.

I started with Tip 4:

“Everyone starts out doing grunt work till trust is proven”

Everyone starts with some grunt or dirty work, but its actually not an opportunity, he told me that basically when I was in Slum Burger I used to put crude oil with the labor and I remained in that section for months n this things makes me a good team player that I can work with anyone. I did understood the operational work at first line management.

Tip 5: Don’t talk badly about the company or about your boss

He told me never ever make any conflicts always try to create a win win situation. Avoid everything because you have to learn from them and if you create a mess it will be you who will suffer.
make a friendly atmosphere

Then we discussed Tip 6:

“Take control of your relationship with your boss and team members”

I shared this Tip and he said basically its you who wants them so you have to invest your time and money. Find the ways how your colleagues and boss fell in love with you and once you find apply it and avoid any sort of conflict between you and them.

Tip 7: Find a mentor and manage the relationship strategically

He said to me its the Best thing to learn from others experience and its stairs for success. H told me how throughout his life he has been helped by so many people and all of them were his mentors.
He told me that your success is directly proportional to how you make professional networks and how people teaches you. your mentor is a light for you.

Tip 8: Join a professional body and build your network

He told me so many professional bodies and he also told me that when you apply for a specific job you must mention the professional bodies you are attached with. It will make you unique from others as HR will think this person thinks out of the box and have been attached to professional networks.

When you will continuously meet with professionals on seminars and conferences they will identify you and mostly people do give job opportunities.

Tip 9: Embrace change and reflect on what you are learning daily

He told me that, you must consult yourself on daily basis it will make you more product and it will provide you a motivation on daily basis.
So one must see a mirror on routine basis it will make one a better person.

After that I did send my mentor a thank you email and he replied with gratitude as well and he said he will also focus on this tip throughout his life.

My Thank you Email:

Senior Mentor
Dear Farhan Bhai

I hope you will be fine and having good time. I found that meeting very beneficial for me and those suggestions and tactics will be very helpful for me and now onward I will definitely improve and adopt all these tips. I have learned a lot from you. Therefore, I’m writing to thank you for everything you did for me. It was an epic time with you.

Being your student, your support and experience make me able to extract, improve and learn more from these tips. By the time I am improving and started applying those tips. This is just because of your support and humanity. I am extremely grateful to you for all of your efforts for me.

As the best way to thank someone for a gift is to use that gift so I’m not saying thanks just by words but I’ll also present gratitude by my actions as actions speaks louder than words So I’ve decided to use your guidelines in the future. For example, you told that the conflict management matters so I’ll try to use win-win situation throughout my career.

At the end, I’d say that you did the great job. It was an honor for me to be with you at that special day. I present my heartiest congratulations and gratitude again for your efforts.

With gratitude,
Faisal Rasool
