In The End, I Chose Medium
After getting tired of finding the best blogging platform to pour my opinion and experience through writing, finally I met medium.
As a Programmer who highly prioritizes the freedom to customize the applications I used. I am more interested in using the Open Source platform which can be adjusted according to my needs.
But Medium is not a platform that I can change based on my own will.
The other platform, like WordPress, consumes a lot of time to adjust it to my preference, also there is lots of Plug-ins and Themes which have different versions, such as PRO-version and FREE-version make it harder to optimize the blog that we manage.
Since 2016 I have the desire to make a blog and I’ve tried it numerous times, but, even when I haven’t reached 10 articles, I already feel bored because I have to think of the configurations and that consumes more time rather than the time I use to write.
And I decided to focus on writing than optimizing the blog to my preference.
At first, I had an interest in Blogger.
A simple blogging platform and it is from Google. Every product produced by Google has guaranteed quality.
But, the Blogger is not that simple, I will still be bothered by the time-consuming configurations.
Until today, I still count as a Creative Worker who always takes advantage of opportunities to start from application development to managing an online shop which is also active in social events.
So, to manifest my desire for writing, Medium has become my choice.
Simple and have good quality.
There are no configurations that will consume most of my time, but my writing will still get published well by this platform. Because, often when I am looking for something in Google, the articles from Medium will become the top search or top answer to my questions.
And I don’t need to focus on Domain and Hosting.
Now, I can focus on writing, and seems like there will be a lot of categories of articles that I am going to write.
August 13, 2020. At 7 a.m. I tried to write on the Medium for the first time.
That was my experience in finding a suitable blogging platform for me.
Hopefully, my future stories will bring benefits to the readers.
