Experience of In-person Drop:
It was August/23/2017, a very hot day and time was approximately 10:00 AM, and it was me Fajar Rehman, standing beside a building named as Habib Bank ltd. a very re-putative and one of the oldest bank of Pakistan.
I was there for completing my project of “In-person drop” that was assigned to me during my fellowship at Amal academy just for practicing the skills that i learnt there. So I stepped in and entered in Bank and ask to the guard where is the Bank manager desk he guided me and I reached to the desk easily without any hurdle.
There was a man sitting on the chair with very serious face and working constantly, The first thing which I did, I read the name board and knew that his name was “Sir Kashif Hayee”.I cough slightly and He looked at me I did Salam and He said “G bolen”. I told him about my in person drop.He was quite wondered he command me to sit and I said Thank You Sir, Then he said that you had to go head office for job, but so you are here now then show me your CV, I present my resume and Cover letter and when he asked I did my Elevator pitch and tried my best for giving my 100%, I know there were some flaws and I was very confused about reaction but apart from all I did it.Then Manager asked me some other question like why you want to join Banking sector and what you are doing now and all this then he told me about the new positions and links for new jobs and methods for applying, I told him about Amal Academy and about my project and request him for feedback, although that was not the part of project to tell the employer that its just a practice but we both knows that he is not the person who can hire me but He was inspired from all that and he did feedback, my positive points he feels that “I was confident, I had new techniques for applying on the job and Non verbal communication and everything was okay but he said that the part about strength stories and all this is not for banking sector for applying here, you have to do some internships in Accounts departments or in bank first. You are fresher and You have to face difficulties if you don’t have any experience”.Then after some beneficial talks I said Thank You to him for his precious time and ask him for card and came back,at evening I sent him a Thank You Email.
And that was it, experience was very good indeed, I am feeling much confident now for applying on any job (apart from lack of relevant experience).
#THANK YOU AMAL.
