Joc Porker, Host of ‘Spoon Your Grandma’ (1990–2022)

‘Spoon Your Grandma,’ the prime-time show on the niche television channel TV Greenhouse, has tragically lost its beloved host, Joc Porker. He was just 32 years old.
Joc co-founded TV Greenhouse, which began as an independent production company before their transition to cable last year, where the channel quickly developed a cult following. Since the company’s inception, their mission has remained the same: to create wholesome content through unapologetic, experimental television.
Thanks to Joc, ‘Spoon Your Grandma’ was the channel’s first commercial success. The unscripted and lightly edited show featured millennials feeding warm soup to their grandparents, and the situations that ensued. Episodes displayed a variety of family dynamics, including generational misunderstandings, Alzheimer fueled circular rants, and hour long sessions of silent broth consumption. The glue that held every episode together was Joc, the charming, racially ambiguous host you couldn’t help but want to meet up with for coffee on a rainy day.
Joc’s untimely death came during taping a guest appearance for the series premiere of TV Greenhouse’s ‘Trampled to Health’. The (since-cancelled) show investigated the potential medical benefits of various species of stampeding animals. TV Greenhouse has issued a brief statement on the chicken-related incident, but the future of ‘Spoon Your Grandma’ remains uncertain.
Joc will live on through his two seasons on ‘Spoon Your Grandma,’ his videos on ‘Vine’ which propelled him to stardom in the early 2010’s, and the countless porn parodies slandering both his name and TV show that will undoubtedly haunt his family for generations to come.
