Indiana Jones 5 will be released on June 2023, to receive first-look photos
Harrison Ford made an appearance on Thursday at the Lucasfilm panel at the Star Wars Celebration to announce that Indiana Jones 5 will be released in theaters on June 30, 2023.
Ford reprises his role in the latest installment of the franchise, which is almost done. He informed the audience today that the movie will be finished soon, and will include works by John Williams.
Williams joined in on the live orchestra event in his Indiana Jones theme prior to Ford being introduced. The music composer also led the group in the first live performance of the Obi-Wan Kenobi theme. That series, starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, was first aired on Disney on Friday.
Indiana Jones 5, which James Mangold is directing, will be taking the place of Steven Spielberg’s movie, inspired by a script by Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and Mangold. Because the script was not publicized at today’s meeting, we, unfortunately, did not make any plot details public. Ford, Mangold, and the executive producers Kathy Kennedy and Frank Marshall did, however, share an official photo from the film.
In 2020, Indy 5 had started principal photography for its initial release date in July but postponed it until later in the year, as a result of production delays caused by the pandemic and Spielberg directing a remake of West Side Story.
The film’s cast ensemble includes Antonia Banderas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Ren e Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, and Toby Jones. Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel are the producers; through four films, the Indiana Jones franchise has racked up approximately $2 billion worldwide.
The Star Wars Celebration panel today introduced a combo of Lucasfilm news and fan talk about recent Star Wars. The Obi-Wan Knenobi series on Disney opened the press panel, with reports on the Diego Luna-led Andor and season 3 of The Mandalorian following. There was an announcement for a new trailer to the Willow series, and confirmation Jude Law has joined Jon Watts and Christopher Ford’s great star wars series.
