Food Porn

For the life of me…I can’t find capellini pasta in my suburb. Why does pasta have to be a thick bite for it to be tasty. i think authentic Italian pasta should be thinner. Capellini is better than spaghetti, but for the life of me I cant find it anywhere in my suburb. I think the sauce sits on it better, a better bite. And the sauce should be a little rich… At a popular restaurant in my city, they sold me a linguine de mare which was mostly water. I paid $30 bucks for water. Please don’t do this to me. Food is the one thing one should enjoy after sex.

I also come from a pakistani background so I add a little cumin to the italian spices. oh the exotic cumin…what will happen if I add that, will things change for me..how will I handle the spice. It just makes things a little brighter, a little more fusion, a little more culture…can you handle it?

I also have something to say about the thick noodle. Udon is a specialty in Japan, and I don’t want to critcize, but I still havent fallen in love with Udon. I think when you discover capellini you will change.

America america how you love your thick spaghetti…isn’t it time for a change?

Oh I think panda should switch its noodle for chowmein as well. A thin noodle…I found it once by luck, untill it too disappeared. Why does everything I love disappear…they found it in Australia and Europe somewhere. Like the viennetta- heavenly icecream cake that has disappeared in America…bring it back or else!!

Eggrolls and Dimsum are still cool. No complains yet. Veggie eggrolls are the best!! I do the shrimp dumplings with extra red pepper oil…my indian tastes…

I went to a fusion restaurant where the Dosa was being turned into a crepe. Please don’t do this to my Madrasi Dosa. Leave the Dosa alone!! or else!! Dosa- one of my favorite childhood foods with potatoes and peas…tradition. If you must make it french….make it tasty…how … I have no idea…Nutella crepes are best on the streets of Paris…healthy. The americanized versions with fruit and whip and sometimes so much americana that you forget france. Please bring a ‘french nutella crepe’ to America one day so we can learn a few things.

And then there’s Spinach aloo…my fave pakistani dish…connected to a memory, a story or something…that never leaves me…try it out in nor cal. If this dish starts to disappear…oh all hell is gonna break loose…

Ethiopian dishes are something I finally tried….Aiyyah…more kick than indian. You will remember that the next day.

Have you ever tried pani puri on the streets of Delhi, India. After eating that, your poor body can pretty much explode from both ends…but its the shit!! You may have never eaten something like that ever.. and then there’s gola…in karachi…ice slushie with sweetened milk and all the colors…a rainbow like that country …pakistan…you must visit…at least once…only god can save my Pakistan..
