Project 1: Sharing the 6 tips with your classmate
Back with another adventure today. Amal fellowship is coming to an end. Yet again an amazing challenge from their side. There was El-Geologico today It was an amazing match and enjoyed a lot too.
I had a task to cope with there are few of my friends who wanted to join Amal and were not able to do so. So I though why not give them insight about how it feels to be a part of Amal fellowship. I discussed with them some tips to maximize the career and make certain choices that can help them out.
Here are is what actually happened. We were sitting in UC café after the match and I started talking and told them following tips
1. Do an internship before pursuing a higher degree to confirm if you like that field/industry
2. Don’t do PhD if you want to be an entrepreneur or work in corporate sector
3. Spend at least one year in your first job
The discussion started off slow but after few question they seemed interested in this most of our discussion was about the first tip that what if we are not possible to align our interest with our passion. Like if you do internship and see it is not what you chose for yourself then after discussion we came to conclusion that if you don’t do internship it would not help to choose what it feels to do something and if you like it then pursue it.
The rest of the tips were all agreed that one should not go for PhD if he is going to be an entrepreneur and one should stick to first job at least for one year as it will help you gain experience and will give you idea about how it feels to be the part of industry.
They suggest that we can try to have an internship in our 2nd year as well so if we don’t like field we can switch as there will be less stakes.
Overall it was an amazing experience and it made me realize it would not harm you unless you try it for yourself.
