In one of my posts;

What is Seasonal Content and How to make most out of it, I mentioned briefly Evergreen Content.

The purpose was to help you differentiate Seasonal Content from Evergreen Content.

But that wasn’t enough to explain the importance of Evergreen Content, especially if you want to scale up your content marketing strategy.

Evergreen Content is searched nearly all around the year.

It is content that stays relevant for readers, despite what time of the year it is.

Whereas seasonal content is only viable for a particular time such as Christmas, New Year, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Valentines Day.

Baking a cake is done throughout the year whether it be Christmas or a routine evening tea.

Moreover, how to do blogging the right way or how to start a blog are also examples of evergreen content.

Imagine if thousands of people only in your area or state have made up their minds on how to start a blog.

Now think of how many would search across the United States and worldwide throughout the year.

Sound’s interesting!!.

If you think of any news or trending topic right now, it would not last for the whole year.

For instance, the Apple Event 2022 iPhone 14 release would not last for a few more months until another Apple device is released.

While if you talk about troubleshooting and How to’s about Apple devices,

They are considered examples of Evergreen Content.

If I could put it in simple words;

Evergreen content is more of a general topic that is searched irrespective of age, gender, location, and time.

The Evergreen content strategy is effective for achieving and driving traffic to your blog.

Follow the steps below for creating evergreen content that drives traffic and attracts visitors.

Choose Right Keywords

The traffic on any blog, website, or online store is dependent on choosing the right keywords.

Start searching for evergreen topics by entering the seed keyword in tools like Ahrefs or SEMRush.

From the list, filter out keywords that have a monthly search volume of 1000 or more.

There might be thousands of keywords driving 1000 search queries per month.

But not all of them are worth Evergreen Content.

To find whether the topics are being searched throughout the world all around the year;

You need to check it on Google Trends.

From the tabs select Worldwide and past 12 months or past 5 years.

As the picture displays that how to lose weight is searched throughout the year;

Without the decline in the trend.

Make sure to check your keyword in Google Trends to have a better idea about the trend.

Optimize Evergreen Content for SEO

High-quality content is essential for driving traffic to your blog.

Whether it is evergreen content, long-form content, Ridiculously Long List, or seasonal content.

You cannot do SEO the way you used to do it back in 2011.
