FARO Welcomes Engin Yenidunya as CFO/COO
We’re delighted to welcome Engin Yenidünya on board as FARO CFO/COO.
Engin shares FARO’s keen appetite for exploring the future of financing and how entertainment gets produced, combined with a stellar background in traditional investment and film production.
He was most recently CFO of MUBI, a global streaming platform, studio
and distributor for 13 million film lovers around the world. He
worked on MUBI’s acquisition of well-known production and distribution
company The Match Factory, developed various strategic partnerships
and led the Finance and HR teams.
Prior to MUBI, Engin worked for 18 years in banking in New York,
London, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. He held a number of positions at Shinsei
Bank in Tokyo, closing $2.2 billion of senior loans and $1 billion+ of
equity investments. Between 2014 and 2020, he grew the commercial real
estate financing business in the Asia Pacific for clients including
Blackstone, Brookfield, Oxford, Charter Hall, and Cromwell.
Engin has also produced eight films including CUT by Amir Naderi
(Venice, Toronto, Tribeca), ASHES by Palme d’Or winning director
Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and TOLL BOOTH by Tolga Karacelik (first
Turkish film to have a one-week theatrical run at MoMa).
He has invested in and advised startups based in Silicon Valley,
London, Tokyo, and Istanbul, including Zaiko, the platform connecting
creators directly to fans through digital events, video distribution,
data analytics and NFTs.
He is part of Tate Britain’s Art Now Supporters Circle and on the Advisory Board for Today Is The Day Foundation.
Engin was President of the Yale Club of Japan for 12 years. He is bilingual in English and Turkish, fluent in German and Japanese and learning Spanish. He is a BSAC Sports Diver and open water swimmer.
Engin holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science, with Honors,
from Yale University.
