AUG Rifle #Juststart
In Amal Academy, they focus on enhancing one’s growth mindset. They want their fellowship members to have a flexible personality so that they may turn out to be outstanding individuals in respective professional lives. Therefore, I have been assigned an activity to just start doing something which I never did, just because I was afraid if that would work out or not. Thus, I will be sharing my experience regarding that activity in this blog.
Goal: My goal is to use the AUG assault rifle instead of M4A4 on Counter-Terrorists or CT side while playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or CS:GO Competitive Matchmaking.
Since I do competitive online gaming in CS:GO, there have always been different kinds of updates to this game which affect the choice of which rifle to play with. Sometimes, certain rifle’s damage gets increased or its recoil gets improved, due to which gamers start using that particular rifle.
In a recent update, the AUG assault rifle’s damage got increased. Furthermore, its recoil got improved as well. But I have never used this rifle. Let’s just say it wasn’t my favorite pick because it comes equipped with an automatic 2x scope. Switching to this rifle takes up more time than M4A4 because of that 2x scope which I never appreciated. It has been two months and I have lost many 1vs1 battles just because I was not using this rifle. I have been afraid to use it as I have never played with it and I was afraid to lose matches which would lead to de-rank.
Now that my goal was to use this rifle and overcome my fears, I had to go through the following steps:
1- Training without scope:
Training was the first step as I haven’t played with this particular assault rifle before. I trained on the CrashZ server where an infinite amount of Bots would keep respawning and I could practice my aim. I kept practicing for two hours on the first day.
2- Training with scope:
As I already mentioned that this rifle comes up with an automatic 2x scope, I needed to practice my aim and timing with it. I practiced this for two hours again, the second day.

3- Testing in Competitive:
The final step was to test out practice in an official cs:go matchmaking. I did use the AUG assault rifle while being on the CT side and the outcome was extraordinary! Not only was I able to win 1v1 battles now but to top frag in my team as well. 2x helped a lot in long-range fights which contributed to round winnings.
Yet at some points, I did lose spray control since it was just two days of practice. Thus, I still have a long way to go. I will keep practicing once in a while to keep improving and get perfection at this particular assault rifle.
