Utilizing the Priority Matrix
Priority matrix is a structured approach to working on what matters most for the project’s stakeholders. It also identify their relative importance by providing a means for ranking projects.
Priority Matrix Categories
- Urgent and important
- Urgent and not important
- Not urgent and important
- Not urgent and not important
I experienced priority matrix. It is awesome technique to do. I tried my best to work accordingly but sometimes i distracted and took long time to do my task on time. But the whole process was so efficient. My work routine was better than other days by using this approach.
I also faced some challenges like my instant gratification monkey continuously distracting me. He didn’t let me work with full concentration. There were some jobs that i could do better if i already apply this approach, like i could better preparation of my exams on urgent basis etc. I could be more active and productive. This technique made my work easy to do as was distributed into priority matrix categories.
As in our lives there are many things to do on urgent basis similarly some works are important to do on time but not urgent. But without this approach we have no idea to do things accordingly.
Benefits of Priority Matrix
- Quantifies the decision with numeric rankings
- Provide a quick and easy method for evaluating things
- Tells us about importance of things in our life
- It taught us balance between important and not important things.
