Fresh graduates are always searching for jobs. Not only search is important but search and putting your efforts in the right direction is most important. Person while going to the interview must be fully equipped mentally as well as physically. Resume and cover letter must be prepared properly and search on the company must be done to ensure the success.

But this is not necessary that some company or organization will advertise the job and then we will apply to that job. Then concept is now changed. You can also go for dropping your resume and cover letter in person. If you really show passion and interest in the organization with the help of your elevator pitch and cover letter then they can hire you as companies are searching for these kinds of people.

But wait a minute..! when you think of the in person drop by your own without any invitation then there are many fears: fear of rejection, fear of insult, fear of non cooperative behavior of staff present there and many more. But this is what you are thinking; this can be wrong also. So you should not follow the path of the resistance and face the fear. Your victory is waiting you beyond your fear. When this stage is crossed then new possibilities are made and circumstances become favorable for you.

This week we were given the task of in person drop of resume and cover letter to a company or some institution and we also had to practice our elevator pitch. These all things were there in my mind but I decided to face my fear by leaving all my bad thoughts behind. Then problem was selecting the organization related to my field and passion for in person drop.

I selected a nearby college named LIMS as they are also offering the degree in B.SC (Hons.) Human Nutrition and Dietetics. One other reason for selecting them was I am really good at teaching others, actually it is my strength. I can relate it to many events in my life.

I updated my resume and cover letter according to the college information I had. I was really nervous and feared of the reactions of the concerned bodies. But I talked to my self that it is not the end of the world, the purpose of this activity is to get an experience of in person drop and understand the process and possible difficulties. It will be a life long learning, so go for it. So by facing my fears and leaving the path of resistance I went there. First hurdle was the guard I had to explain him that why I want to meet the principal. After a long conversation he got my point and allowed me to go inside. Principal was busy in some meeting so I had to wait for 15–20 minutes and I was actually mentally prepared for it. After that interval I had a chance to meet him. After formal greetings I used my elevator pitch to show my passion and interest to work in college. Then I gave him my resume and cover letter. I came back with the positive feedback.
