The Intense Bottle: Payal Singhal Presents Collaboration With Fragrance Label All Good Scents

One of the most enigmatic characteristics to understand about designers is that they have to keep coming up with new ideas which escalate the desire in people and up the ante of hope with every offering.

Mumbai designer Payal Singhal is such designer who has joined the league of her colleagues Gaurav Gupta and Masaba Gupta to offer an ineffable scent that would draw much of the crowd to the pursuit of eternal bliss. A graduate of SNDT, Singhal, better known for her algorithm and feminine floral patterns, comes together with boutique fragrance label All Good Scents by Rajiv Sheth to launch an intense scent called Tender Intense: Couture Edition. It is a product which otherwise could be seen as a revisit by designers to traditional methods blended with modernity.

“The idea for them (All Good Scents) was to work on a collaboration with someone from the design industry to get some visibility, and a beautiful fragrance that will make people gravitate towards it,” said Singhal. Packed in pale rose print, the perfume is described by enigma of raspberry, freesia and Moroccan orange blossoms, Turkish rose, jasmine sambac and patchouli and sensual patches of musk, vetiver and honey.

“I saw some of her previous collaborations and her brand is contemporary, homegrown and Indian but not completely Indian –it’s a mix of it all. We had the exact same aesthetic here at All Good Scents,” explains Sheth about the mutual belief in brand and cultural philosophy.

While, this is the first-of-a-kind collaboration for both brands, they are also collaborating on a men’s variant towards the end of the year. “As a designer, sometimes we are so saturated just thinking about clothes. Design is such an abstract notion, you can’t limit it to one aspect of your life. It’s very exciting to be able to expand to different avenues for ride,” says Singhal when asked about what she loved most about this collaboration.
