Another new weekend from October is coming, here are the best hot and new tracks released this Friday.

Tracks from Kim Petras, Camila Cabello, Travis Scott, Allie X, Christina Aguilera, Lower Dens, Spector, Joseph of Mercury, Four Tet, the new album of Chromatics, Broken Bells, the collaboration of Kleerup & AlunaGeorge, the new of JR JR, Rudimental and more.

“There Will Be Blood” is the second track off of Kim Petras’ second studio album “Turn off the Light”. The song is mostly a metaphor for sex and how it can be dark.

“Cry for Me” is the third single released from Camila Cabello’s sophomore studio album, Romancefollowing the release of “Liar” and “Shameless”. Backed by upbeat production, the song finds Camila dealing from a breakup, wanting her ex-lover to feel as melancholic as she herself is feeling.

Following the song’s release, Camila took to Instagram, telling fans that although the song was only written a few months prior, it was inspired by one of her early works:

i wrote a song back when I was 16 called I’m pissed off you’re happy, about a situation where someone and I broke up and sooner than I expected, they moved on, they were having fun and happy and dating and i was just like…. what the hell, that didn’t take very long 🤬🤬🤬🤬 I took that idea and put it into this song, the feeling nobody likes to admit about feeling wild with jealousy. On “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM,” Travis Scott discusses his relationship with his now ex-girlfriend and mother of his child — Kylie Jenner — and his self-proclaimed title as the most intoxicated person in the place he is in.

This song was first teased by Kylie on April 22, 2019, when it featured in an advertisement for her Kybrows cosmetic product. Following this, on May 3, 2019, Travis performed a portion of the song during his headlining set at JMBLYA 2019, and then again a week later, during his set at Rolling Loud Miami.

In late June 2019, Travis performed a large portion of the track, during his Morocco performance and on August 31, 2019, he previewed Lil Baby’s verse during a live show.

On September 30, 2019, Travis revealed the single’s final release date and cover art in an Instagram post. Coincidentally, two days before the scheduled release of “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM” Travis and Kylie reportedly called it quits on their relationship.

The song was officially released on October 4th, 2019, along with accompanying visuals. However the final version did not include the teased Lil Baby feature, leading many to believe that he was taken off prior to its release.

Fresh Laundry was written on Allie X’s first day in Sweden with producer Oscar Görres and James Alan Ghaleb.
On Instagram and Twitter, Allie talked about her new song, where she explained the trippy writing process, that, ultimately, guided her new sound and style for the subsequent year. She also talked about how this new style allowed her to finally tackle on feelings she never managed to translate into songs before.

The lyrics were inspired by the “[…] fresh scent and softness of a warm white towel […]”. About the deeper meaning of the song, Allie has stated that Fresh Laundry is about “[…] longing for things you can’t have.”

“Haunted Heart,” performed by Christina Aguilera, was written by Antonina Armato, Aguilera and Tim James and was also produced by Rock Mafia. “Haunted Heart” will be released later this month by RCA Records ahead of the film’s debut.

Third release from “The Competition.” frome Lower Dens. It seems this song is about the expectations of society interfering with the relationship between Jana and a parent (or maybe a parental figure). It also features Baltimore musician Elon Battle ( :3LON )

After ‘I Won’t Wait’ burst into our lives in June, indie quintet Spector are back with their latest bop ‘Half Life’ which explores the feeling of having a bit of FOMO about your own life.

Taken from a forthcoming EP which is set to come out soon via their own Moth Noise imprint, it’s a melodic shimmery track that frontman Fred Macpherson describes as looking at “the worry that you’re losing touch with people, places, culture, no longer recognising yourself in the mirror, the constant tick of the clock in the background. It’s about wondering how much time you have left.” But with an upbeat mood, ofc.

With a huge UK headline tour set for later this year, Fred goes on to describe ‘Half Life’ in a way that we can only say is The Biggest Of Moods. “There’s nothing better than a group of people just losing it, all singing along to something a bit miserable,” he says. “That’s the life blood of the indie disco, handed down from generation to generation… Dancing with tears in your eyes”

We’ve been keeping an eye on this fella by Joseph of Mercury. He has some serious pop star potential. His newest release ‘Out My Mind’ takes the Midlake/Fleetwood Mac US FM radio sound circa late 70s/early 80s and gives it a boost of funk.

You better listen the new track of Four Tet Breath, which will enrich your afternoon.

Forever obsessed with capturing the spirit and aesthetics of film noir through woozy electronic ballads and classic rock covers alike, Chromatics step just slightly outside their comfort zone on “Light as a Feather,” a highlight from the new surprise album Closer to Grey. (Their long-anticipated album Dear Tommy, announced half a decade ago, is apparently still in the works.)

Built around a hypnotic, noisy synth loop that seems ripe for sampling by some enterprising hip-hop producer, “Light as a Feather” veers away from many of Johnny Jewel’s usual programmatic conventions. Instead of drum machines, the Italians Do It Better label boss reaches for a sampled break, giving the track a groove that feels rare for the typically straitlaced unit. It’s made whole by the coy delivery of frontwoman Ruth Radelet, whose vocals layer and overlap as she speaks to herself from beyond the veil.

Chromatics play it safe with the lyrics, content to mine their usual dark alleyways for flimsy, romantic refrains (“I hear a voice, she whispers secrets from the death”). But the sum is greater than its parts: Their music is more effective at capturing a state of mind than telling a story. Here, amid gaudy synth solos and distorted drones, they give you the space to fill in your own feelings about the afterlife.

Broken Bells — the collaborative project of Danger Mouse and the Shins’ James Mercer — have shared a new song, titled “Good Luck.” You can take a listen to the track below (via 30th Century/AWAL).ç

“Good Luck” is the first new song from Broken Bells in nearly a year, but they haven’t yet announced a new album. The band posted photos from the studioonline in August 2018, and shared the new song “Shelter” as a one-off track in December. Their last full-length record, After the Disco, was released in 2014.

Swedish producer Andreas Kleerup and London-based duo AlunaGeorge are mulling over the decision to risk everything and join the “Lovers Table” on their new collaborative single, available exclusively on Billboard below.

The sleek, moody set combines the English group’s soulful and surreal sound with Kleerup’s celestial dance pop, honed over the last decade with the likes of Robynand Lykke Li as well as in his own solo work. The song follows a journey that isn’t so much about meeting the right seat partner but rather the search within oneself to get there. Vocalist Aluna Francis imbues the track with a sense of self-assured yet forlorn resignation that embodies the song’s central tension of leaving the familiar behind and committing to the uncertainty of love.
