Chris Jordan replaces injured Jofra Archer at Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have suffered an injury setback before their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, as England fast bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the remaining season of the Indian Premier League 2023 and has been replaced by Chris Jordan. Archer has played only five matches for the Mumbai Indians and has taken only two wickets at an economy rate of 9.50.

According to a report last month, Archer had visited an elbow specialist in Belgium, where he underwent a minor surgical procedure. It was the same elbow that has caused him several issues over the last two years. with an initial fracture in the year 2021, which ruled him out of that year’s English summer, T20 World Cup, and Ashes.

Archer made his return to international cricket earlier this year after an absence of nearly two years because of elbow and back injuries. Meanwhile, Jordan, who went unsold at a base price of Rs 2 crore at the IPL auction that was held last year but has represented ECB, SRH, PBKS, and CSK in previous seasons of the IPL.

Jordan made his debut in the IPL back in 2016 and has played around 28 matches in the IPL so far, taking 27 wickets. He has represented the England cricket team in 87 T20Is and has taken 96 wickets. Last year, Jordan represented CSK, where he took two wickets in four matches.
