Nice piece of writing on a contentious topic - concise, logical and wonderfully true.

Obesity had a definite beginning in the USA in 1975. That was the year in which "we" began eating more ultra-processed foods than we could overcome. And I use the word overcome deliberately because we are not biologically equipped to eat this stuff.

We gets lots of calories, but almost no nutrients ... meaning weight gain, lethargy, coginitive impairment, disease and premature aging are the only possible result. At the cellular level, where it really matters, we're virtually starving, and a starving body will display every symptom we're seeing ... intense hunger, cravings, binge eating ...

As you've pointed out, we need to feed our bodies NOT starve them. A properly fed body will automatically shed excess fat ... let's not forget, we have to be lean and strong enough to hunt and gather, and our bodies have eons of experience with regulating this homeostatic balance. When we feed our bodies, nutrient void, chemical shit and scratch our heads when we get fat, it's time to give our "collective" heads a good shake.
