Question Mark

There’s something about you that’s intriguing
You’ve intrigued this quiet mind
You’ve intrigued me like no other
Not in a sexual manner but in a manner
Of eager souls travelling and deep curiosities
In a manner of hey-let’s-sit-and-talk-about-you-over-coffee
Your mind is like a hand-drawn map
Messy, imperfect, complicated yet beautiful
And though I may not be the best reader of maps
I will spend hours trying to understand yours
Your map, your mind map
Is the only map I want to understand
I may not get the way right
I may lose my way but I would not mind
People say it’s not about the destination anyway
It’s about the journey
And my journey is you
So let me wonder, let me wander aimlessly
You’re like a puzzle that I will try to solve
Though again, I am not a big fan of puzzles
I will still sit and lie while carefully rearranging your tiny pieces
Of broken pasts and hopeful future
I will cautiously put your pieces back together
And even frame it if you want me to — for protection
The pieces I’ve mend of you may not be perfect
But I’ll still do it anyway
Because in the midst of piecing you back together
I was hoping that maybe I could find a piece of me in you
And when I find that piece —
If I find that piece
Maybe there is hope…
