I’ve just finished going through what has been a five year process to gain citizenship in the UK. I can honestly say, as a white middle-class person from an English speaking country, the systemic racism in the forms I had to fill out was pretty easy to spot. As an English speaking person in a predominantly white culture the process was relatively simple — however I found the guidance to be unclear at times or missing information that was necessary. I deduced the need to look but only because of my fluency in the most commonly spoken language.
It wasn’t nearly as complicated as the American system sounds but it still has bias throughout.
