So, when did I start calling myself a writer? When I came to understand that we’re not defined by our day jobs. I am a writer because I love to write. You can be, too, if you just accept it. That’s why you can (and should) take “aspiring” out of your title. If you do it, even if it’s just to an audience of a handful of people, you’re doing it — you’re a writer (or a musician or a poet or whatever creative outlet you’re passionate about).
Dropping the ‘aspiring.’ It’s okay to call yourself a writer.
