Linguists are Information Architects!
Abby Bajuniemi, PhD

This rings so many bells! Very good article!

I majored in general linguistics back in 2001, and then went on to study communication science and media. I have been working in IA/UX and content strategy for more than 15 years and still today, I can see that my linguistics skills are very useful.

We know how to structure and break down elements, that’s for sure.

Two days ago, I was doing a presentation on user behavior, web analytics and web writing to our newly trained web editors, and we discussed differences in sentence length between English, French and Spanish. And I really felt like a linguist again! :-)
