The Full Review of Gmadias Hermes E2 which is the best TKL gaming keyboard.
Gamdias Hermes E2
In this article, we are going to discuss the full review of the budget-friendly TKL mechanical gaming keyboard Gamdias Hermes E2 in detail and for current keyboards market prices, this keyboard is going to attract many gamers.
Construction of Gamdias Hermes E2 :
In terms of construction, it’s the plastic body with powdered coating metallic faceplate and branding above arrow keys. The metallic faceplate is not only for looks but also provides strength. On the metal plate, all the new Gamdias certified switches can be seen below keycaps. This gives an excellent display of RGB backlit, reflecting equally behind keycaps and on the frame.
From F2-Feightt multimedia keys are present that are used for volume adjustment and to change up songs. whereas backlit can be changed through ins to page down keys. In addition, we got plastic keycaps with aggressive fonts equally spreading RGB backlit but their unique feature is that having a coating that only feels good but also avoids any fingerprints on them.
Keys edges are smooth that feel good especially during typing or switching keys during gaming. So great job Gamdias for keycaps!
Size:
- 370-mm Long
- 140mm-wide
- 30-mm high
Backside:
On the backside of the keyboard, we got 2 height adjustment flips and 3 rubber feet for better grip. It has a 1.5m long thin plastic cable that unfortunately non-detachable cable. So you can’t connect custom coiled cable with it.
Mechanical Switches:
keyboard got Gamdias certified mechanical switches that are in blue, brown, red, and black variants. Depending on the countries you can choose from, whereas for Pakistan just blue switches are available at this time. But these switches give the appearance of the Otemu variant with tactile feedback and for actual working switches, they click just after a few mm pressed.
They are much softer than items switches. So Gamdias has done any modification with these switches, its details are not yet been released. Overall in quite satisfied with their feel and sound graded at 50M click lifetime. Unfortunately, if you want more silent like brown switches so they are not hot swap-able. the sound test of these switches is less clicky as compared to Otemu’s original switches.
So definitely Gamdias has done modifications with their switches.
Keys Stabilizer:
Long keys are stabilized and there is no swing or unequal feeling when pressed from the center or edges.
So how was gaming on this?
As I said before, keys with tactile feedback and low travel distance give a feel like Cherry MX. Rubber grips keep the keyboard stable. Other than that keyboard got a 1000Hz polling rate and N-keys rollover. So a pretty much unusable, pleasant, and smooth gaming experience for me.
RGB Backlit of TKL Keyboard:
The RGB backlit is not brightest but saturated and the effects are smooth. the backlit effects we got mostly solid and breathing type of effects. Interestingly we don’t have famous Flow RGB effects that also come with even 6 USD.So it’d be kind of a dumb move from Gamdias!
Control Software:
Important to notify that the keyboard got no control software. So onboard shortcuts keys are used for every function. The good thing is that additional software will not be running on your PC all the time but at the same time you will lose a lot of customization options like macros keys, so it’s kind of trade!
Price:
This keyboard is within 27 USD. So it’s within the killer price tag as compared to others.
Conclusion of Full Review:
To summarize it is a 27 USD TKL keyboard with a solid construction, amazing keycaps, and modified switches. Basic RGB or Neon backlit with few effects and acceptable gaming performance within good specs. But not detachable wire, no software, and few backlit effects are all compromises for the low price.
So if you are searching for a budget TKL with 600 grams weight and super portable so this keyboard should be your choice. But if you are a fan of extensive backlit effects, custom coiled cables or macros keys so you should move to some other options. So you are sacrificing a lot of features for the low price tag.
