The Universe, with You

We sat at the bench for hours
We stared into the endless ocean
And the darkness was starting to light up
And we knew, it’s time to start a new chapter

You lay down next to me
As I looked up at the sky
Completely immersed by the wholeness of it

I slowly began to rest my body next to yours
We were staying still
The earth was carrying us, always rotating
and the universe couldn’t stop staring at us

We could’ve been swallowed by the sky
Floating through the galaxy
Where time never ends
You and I, forever
in an infinite loop

You had to go
So I kissed you goodbye
You pulled me in
For a little more
I said Good bye
You said Stay, don’t go
I said Good bye
You said No, I love you
I said, I love you always and in all ways
But You had to go
So you went and you never looked back

Still, the universe stared at us
Seeing two different emotions
walking on two different ropes
on two different bridges
Fall, or don’t fall
The pain is still the same anyway
