What you describe in your post has long been studied by (at least) two famous French sociologists…
Olivier Simard-Casanova

Thanks for pointing out to these guys Olivier. Can you recommend which of their books/publications to start reading? I’m launching coding bootcamps in Lebanon for computer science students from lower socio-economic backgrounds (to learn coding best practices because their university curriculum is overly theoretical), and we’re allocating at least 20% of the bootcamp on “life skills”, which focuses strongly on the matters Ricky Yean pointed out. We’re figuring out now what and how to teach those skills and help change the poverty mindset, so any help is most welcome.
Thanks (merci!) for any help and awesome post Ricky.
