Review: I bought this book hoping to find some great recipes for body butters Etc, which I felt would be included in a description of General cosmetics. I also wanted some nourishing recipes for other products, but nothing in here that’s beyond basic, Etc and really, mostly facial cosmetics/makeup. Like mascara, and other facial stuff and even those recipes are incredibly simple. Also some of the other reviews mentioned that there were great explanations around the differences between THC and CBD and extraction methods, I’m seeing none of that in this book. Look I know it’s hard to write a book, but the author seems to be a complete amateur. It’s just not well written. I’m giving it four stars only because I know the task of completing a book is very difficult and this is simply my opinion. I’m going to return this book. If you’re looking for a book on a wide variety of items this is not the book for you. There are only a few very simple very basic recipes for cosmetics here. Nothing fun or creative. I’ve found a lot fun, inspiring and better recipes on various websites

Review: I really enjoyed this guide and am glad I got it! I knew next to nothing about cannabis or using cannabis products before reading this. I didn’t even know much about the legalities, or how it was different from hemp. It also cleared up a lot of my misconceptions about THC vs. CBD. That was all bonus information that I didn’t expect — I thought I’d have to purchase multiple books on the subject but this actually included everything I needed to know, from extracting correctly, to mixing the right colors for foundation and lipsticks, down to even the container you store your made goods in. It provided information on how to make many different products. I was only looking for a few things — lipstick, deodorant, and shampoo, but found other sections like body wash, leave in conditioner, perfume, and body lotion that interested me. I’m looking forward to trying all the extra stuff out once I’m done with my original plans. I appreciated that this guide was not vague on which specific ingredients to use in products as a lot of other DIY books I have gotten are which seem to create more questions than answers. You can tell that the author has had a lot of experience doing this work and has done all the hard work of trying and failing over and over already for us, so we have the tried and true information easy at hand. It is an incredibly informative and thorough step by step guide which I like. It definitely piqued my curiosity even more about cannabis strains, which strains are helpful for different issues and moods. Reading about that was fun, especially the names of the strains as well 😛. I recommend this guide to anyone who likes DIY products and having the satisfaction of making things yourself. This will give me lots of new fun project for days at home!

Koehler’s casual yet scientific tone is absolutely fantastic for anyone and everyone who is interested in simple and quality CBD/THC cosmetics and beauty products.
Fear not if you know nothing about cannabis! This book starts with a fantastic breakdown of the history of cannabis plants and outlines clear definitions of every key term you need to know. The scientific background is refreshing and welcomes readers of all levels into the safe and low-pressure world of cannabis use in every-day products — a world that to some may seem like a taboo or confusing subject. Koehler also addresses rumors and common misinformation about cannabis and related products in digestible and objective ways that add to the friendly yet qualified feel of the text. If you aren’t interested in cosmetics, this book is still a great read to better understand all things cannabis. Even seasoned cannabis users may learn a thing or two!

Although I’ve used a very small beauty lotion years ago from Sally’s that contained Hemp, it was very moisturizing but I think most lotions can be but this is definitely a different beauty book that clearly shows not everyone that mentions the word “cannabis” isn’t talking about getting high, and some different forms of it can’t get you walking on cloud 9 anyways. This is indeed a DIY project for those interested because there’s math and everything you’ll need to develop your very own makeup products from just the items Elizabeth discussed in this book. Very good read!

Review: This the best book and I hardly knew about it nor all the gold information in it about about cannabis.
It is mind blowing how much we can do with cannabis and make products that are actually important to our health.
The author also confesses she didn’t know about all this before she decided to educate herself on cannabis.
Am glad I came across this book because I am on a journey to start developing my own products because I love beauty and what a better way than to use my own.
All thanks to Elizabeth now I have knowledge on cannabis and also the regularities that evolve around it and how to use it.
I highly recommend this book. It is a great read.
