What tools to manage project? 3 Tools: Project-open, ProjectLibre and A’bra Spectra

This question is connected to another question: At what level do we want to manage our projects? Just the tasks we want to assign and keep track? Or deliverables? Or requirements, done?

Maybe you would like to see what each project cost and what value has been created.

So there are many aspects of managing a project.

On the other hand, would you like your system have different levels of users?

Or, shall this sytem act as a governance system? I mean, will you get your baselines approved on system, or get your change requests analyzed and submitted to the board? And then, involved in the versioning system?

There are many solutions that you can use in accordance with your purpose. Here we will talk a little bit and compare a little bit three different project management system as a tool.

Project-Open: Over ten years in market, Project-Open is an open-source, cloud and SaaS based tool. It also has an Enterprise Project Management and PMO solution. If you want to manage your projects as programs and portfolios, Project-Open provides you with very talented project management modules like initiation and approval, project controlling, reporting and indicators, earned value management. You can manage your projects with differentiated roles and authentication. Also you can manage project dependencies as well as you can manage by programs and portfolios.

Projectlibre: As Wikipedia described it “Projectlibre is a free and open-source project management software system intended ultimately as a standalone replacement for Microsoft Project.” That definition itself gives us the information on ProjectLibre’s functions. Projectlibre Opensource helps you manage your single projects and Projectlibre Cloud has not been released yet (as of June 2019). It will have the capability to manage your projects together, but it is not known yet whether it will be paid or free.

A’bra Spectra is a new released project management tool working on cloud.It helps you initiate, plan, change, monitor your projects. You can assign different levels of users and manage your documents within the tool. You can export many of your data and also import. The tool has the program and portfolio management talents, but it seems we will wait for the next release for the structured program and portfolio management modules. A’bra describes itself as the “project process management software” and it helps you manage changes and risks, as well.
