I don’t qualify for Obama Care. I just barely make too much. But I live in an area that has expensive auto insurance, home insurance, etc. I also help a family member with an illness. A friend with a two-year newer same model vehicle pays the same amount to insure 3 vehicles (with a young driver) in another state that I do to insure one in my area. And mine is 15 years old, paid off, and I have a completely clean driving record and excellent credit — as does she. This isn’t about the health care debate by the way, just about my agreement with what the author said about being so overwhelmed by URGENT concerns that one can easily be unable to focus on broader goals or community building.
