In my Pocket

In the pocket of my coat lies a secret, of a story meant for me. That deep inside holds a reminder, of the world no one gets to see. A place of fear and confusion, and den of harlots and of thieves. A place where no is allowed, a dungeon no one gets to see. Demons at some point become familiar, a comforting reminder that there’s life. Even if that place is darkness, where nothing escapes, even the light. But embers they burn, glowing hot at it’s core. Reminding us that there’s hope, if nothing else, nothing more. So as we dance around the candle, like a moth to a flame. Keeping the ember safely hidden, where our hope forever remains.
