I absolutely LOVED my breath of fresh air interview with Rita Carrey (older sister of Jim Carrey) on Living Fearlessly with Lisa McDonald!

Rita was extremely candid, raw, and vulnerable in her gracious sharing of the back story of the Carrey family. People hear the Carrey name and have an immediate inclination to associate it with immense wealth, and a smooth sailing life; not always relatable to the general public or to the average human being.

Rita was very quick to rapidly dispel this untrue presumption, and immediately dovetailed into what life in the childhood Carrey home was in fact indicative of — from poverty, to mental health, to daily struggles which very much catapulted Rita and Jim into wanting something different for themselves, yet always remaining fiercely connected and loyal to their roots and humble beginnings.

In spite of Jim Carrey’s household name and notable acclaim to success, Rita too, has carved out her own profound presence in this world as a very successfully driven and successful woman. Rita is a television and radio personality born in Canada where she grew up in Toronto, and Burlington, Ontario. She is an accomplished singer/songwriter and public speaker. Rita is the co-owner for a new organization called Tri Stream Entertainment which helps fund Parkinson’s and other fundraising charities in North America. Besides giving to charity, Tri Stream is a high quality, multi-media corporation.

Rita has been performing classic rock for many years now and is currently performing all over Ontario with her new band, No Strings Attached. She has performed with the likes of Bruce Springsteen and has opened for Honeymoon Suite, Goddo, and April Wine. Rita loves playing intimate venues as well as it allows her to interact with the audience more intimately. It gives her fans a chance to see her quick wit and talent with a show she calls, “Carrey On, Growing Up Carrey.” In this show, Rita performs big band, pop, and sultry blues.

Rita comes from a musical background as her father had his own band which her mother occasionally sang for. Rita is also in the process of writing a book called, Growing Up Carrey, which she hopes hits store shelves soon. Last but not least, Rita has her own on line Internet Radio Show, Pete & Rete. Rita puts her two cents into everyday topics from entertainment to politics and everything in-between.

I was very impressed by Rita’s genuine, wholehearted happiness, and enthusiasm for her younger brother, Jim, and his worldwide success, without believing or feeling as though she is operating on the sidelines in his shadow. Nothing could be further from the truth as Rita authentically loves her life — deriving much joy and fulfillment from every aspect of her multi-talented, and diversified daily living, especially as someone who is continually giving back, paying it forward, and being of continual service to so many others in need.

As a result of Rita’s own journey of family hardship and adversity — she has used every obstacle and life lesson endured and received as an embraced gift and blessing in which to transform lives; hers included. What a true powerhouse and trailblazer you are, Rita! I appreciate and respect you for all which you are as well as for your ongoing contributions to the collective as someone whose light is incredibly bright! You are an exemplary example to us all for living life consciously, intuitively, and deliberately! Keep Shining our Friend!

For anyone seeking inspiration or a pivotal shift within their own journey — I highly encourage you to treat yourselves by listening to my amazing interview with an incredibly stellar human being — the one and only…Rita Carrey! You can listen to the full interview here:
