The Edge confirms to fans: U2 shows in South America will be amazing
Since the beginning of the year, rumors about U2 in South America come and go. But now they’re stronger than ever. U2 Zoostation Radio, from Argentina, tweeted that The Edge talked to some fans yesterday and was asked about shows in Argentina. “Gonna be amazing,” he said.
It comes along with news from Brazil. The Brazilian newspaper Destak reported yesterday that, after a long negotiation, U2 will come back to the country, in October, with The Joshua Tree tour 2017. Noel Gallagher would be the opening act, just like in Europe. The journalist Lúcio Ribeiro, from Brazilian site Popload, also said that the dates in South America could be announced next Sunday.
It’s been a while the South American media has been reporting about U2 shows. La Tercera, from Chile, said the band’s plan includes shows in Brazil, Argentina and Chile, but may add Peru and Colombia for the first time.
