Flowers of Bali (part 2)
So in the first post about balenese flowers I wrote about the most popular ones — except for the lotus flower — it can be usually met inside the temples, which we hadn’t been visiting too much during our stay. This one is also about flowers that you can come across near hotels and beaches.
Caesalpinia — is a really abundant genus counting over 150 species . Fun fact is that it was named by Charles Plumier — the french botanist that the famous balenese flower was named after — Plumeria
Ochna is a genus of evergreen plants originating from Tropical Africa. Some species is sometimes reffered to as Mickey Mouse flowers(don’t ask why, for me they look more like a large eye with eyelashes around it.
These adorable bell-like flowers are called Russelia, they grow in a for of grass up to 1m high. They are also known as Coral Blows or Firecracker plants.
Tabernaemontana are evergreen shrubs and trees 1–15 meters tall. It really catches attention by its spiral flowers.
Petunia these guys are widespred and can be found all over the globe in gardens and flower beds, but still woth mentioning here as there is really lots of them in Bali. Hope you enjoyed, love the nature around you and know it by names.
