Making Leche Flan with Hot Fudge

I recently started a diet that called for eating eggs whites for breakfast. So rather than wasting all my egg yolks, I saved them until I had enough to make Leche Flan. The result, is the what you see above. Want to make this yourself?

Here what you’ll need.

  • 10 Egg Yolks
  • 1 Small Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 Small Can of Evaporated Milk
  • Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cup of Granulated Sugar
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Cupcake mold
  • Frying pan
  • Oven
  • Stove

This is how you make it…

Mix the egg yolks, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Add a couple of drops of vanilla. Mix and set aside.

Place the cookie sheet into the oven and fill it with water up to just a little over the halfway point. Then preheat the oven to 375° F.

Next, heat the sugar on a frying pan under medium heat. Whatever you do, don’t walk away. Wait for the sugar to start melting, and when it does, stir slowly until all the sugar has melted.

Pour the melted sugar into the cupcake mold until the bottom is covered with approximately 1 mm of the caramelize sugar. Let it sit for about 30 seconds. Then pour the egg yolk mixture to fill the rest of the mold.

Cover the mold with aluminum foil. Then, place it into the water filled cookie sheet.

Bake for 1 hour. Take it out the oven to cool. Place it in the fridge and let it chill.

To take it to the next level, warm up some fudge, get a slice of chocolate fudge brownie cake, and put it all together. Then EAT!!!
