ALIEN ON EARTH
Chapter 4— Best Of Both? Nah!
It is impossible to have both worlds. Let alone have the best of both. We call people who never choose a side wanting benefits from both worlds as greedy yet, we shamelessly expect the same from God.
Some who have pondered the Bible more already know about the whole Alien on Earth business and yet refuse to give up being stubborn and asking for everything their heart wants because they firmly believe that they can have the best of both heaven and earth because God’s love is shown that way, as per them.
Leave all the famous verses which have demonstrated God’s love for us, let me show you something about what God thinks of us:
In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.
Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters;
in the assembly, I will sing your praises.”
And again he says, “Here am I, and the children God has given me.”
Hebrews 2:10–13
I don’t know about you but home is where my family and loved ones are.
So, for Jesus who called us brothers and sisters and also Children of God, who thinks it can be made perfect only with us all together, who has called us his family, he obviously will not expect us to make this our home, don’t you think?
While it is true that God loves us so much that he can definitely deliver a comfortable life on Earth, one thing we failed to see, only because he loves us so much he does not want us to be too comfortable here.
He calls us family, calls us the apple of his eyes, draws us in his palm, never sleeps or slumbers and always does something to bring us to him, and yet it is so hard for us to accept that this temporary residence of ours is manageable even if it is troublesome.
All of us going about posting memes “How to unsubscribe from God’s strongest soldier list” at the slightest inconvenience, not going to lie, I posted it too, and now I wonder what was so hard in my life that I had to make it.
Life is hard not gonna say otherwise, but as a brother or sister of Jesus, Children of God, Family of God, do you really think, you were left stranded in the desert without any help?
While he does not want us to get too comfortable here, while we will be allowed to be tested and tempted, no power on Earth is granted the power over our life and soul.
Some of us don’t even have real problems. Because let’s be honest, if someone has real problems they not gonna sit and read this and wonder if they in the right planet, they are probably at God’s feet already crying.
I am not trying to invalidate your problems, just think of your problems, how much of it is fuelled by greed, how much of it is fuelled by jealousy, how much of it is fuelled by your anxiety or fear, how much of it fuelled by your overthinking and wanting to have an assurance.
We love it when pastors say we are a royal generation, a royal priesthood, children of the living God, prince and princess and everything…. get all boosted up and puffed up until we get the royal punishments.
I mean brother, did you forget your king came to serve? Did you forget your king was born in a manger? Did you forget your king was bruised battered, and crucified?
Those who say “That’s why he did all that so I can get a better life.” You are right there darling but a better life doesn’t mean living in a mansion and driving luxury cars.
I highly massively doubt that’s why God suffered, died and rose again and I am pretty sure even under all those assumptions of yours you know that too.
Those 12 apostles or anyone whom Jesus held dear on his time on Earth do you all think, Jesus could not deliver them from harm? Or did not care enough? Or do you think he could not deliver them with riches back then?
Why do you all think they got slashed, sawed, hanged, stoned and beaten to death? Was God’s hand too short to deliver his own disciples? If there is one person capable of giving the best of both worlds, then that is God, yet he did not give the disciples that.
Why? After Acts every book you read, you see what everyone is going through in the early church, yet not one is seen complaining.
Here’s how Jesus answers when Peter asks him what he will get as they have left everything to follow him:
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields — along with persecutions — and in the age to come eternal life” — Mark 10: 29–31
You see the “along with persecutions” yeah, this is for those who have left things for Jesus and the Gospel, and we want what now? Best of what? Both….?
He is capable of delivering heaven on Earth, he is capable of delivering the righteous from trouble like he did with Lot and Noah.
It is not that he can’t, he won’t. He knows exactly what part of you is eternal and what part of you needs saving, so, he will not let the world become your comfort zone.
That does not mean he wants you to be debt-ridden, bed-ridden and be in rages. We need to know the difference.
Let me ask you something, if you are proud to call yourself Children of God, then first off why do you want to live too comfortably and call this place your home when this whole world is under the control of the evil one?
We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one — 1 John 5:19
Now do not get me wrong he is still Lord over all creation. But your Lord is not dwelling here now, so what makes you think everything around will make you comfortable?
When it does make you comfortable, that’s when the real problem starts my brothers and sisters.
