The BMW Welt is a haven for the enthusiasts of the brand. You can experience and witness the company’s past, present, and future over there. The exhibit is situated in Munich, Germany; better known as the birthplace of the brand.

But what does this extraordinary exhibition have to offer when you visit it? There are many features of the BMW Welt and there’s a reason it’s the most visited attraction in all of Bavaria. One of them is the brand new BMW iX EV!

First-Ever BMW iX

Here’s what you can expect:

The Background Behind BMW Welt

The BMW Welt was inaugurated back in 2007 and approximately $200 million were spent on its inception. This was followed by millions of visitors per year. The exhibition is located near BMW’s headquarters.

It is quite the experience as you can view all of BMW’s latest models. You can sit in them to have the BMW experience for yourself. But there’s more; you can also buy and take deliveries of BMWs there if you’d like to.

You can also rent a BMW model for a specific period of time by paying a fee. This isn’t limited to a specific type of BMW, so you could even drive out of there in an i8. Also, there are special classes on how to properly drive a Beamer.

The Amazing Architecture of The BMW Welt

Calling the buildings amazing would be an understatement. This is because they were designed by an architecture firm that won a worldwide contest to do so. The double cone is a thing of beauty and quite an aesthetic masterpiece.

Even inside, there’s an immense feeling of futurism in the interior of the Welt. If you really like the interior, you can book a section of it for an event of yours. They’ll give you everything you need; audio, catering, a rotating stage, etc.

The BMW iX and the BMW Welt

As the BMW Welt is a gigantic BMW showroom, you can see all of their cars there. On my visit, I got to see the iX, which is the first-ever all-electric compact Beamer SUV. This will be available in 2022, so it was quite a treat.

BMW iX Exterior

The car’s shape is obviously the first thing one lays eyes upon. It isn’t the prettiest car on the planet. It definitely isn’t as good-looking as the Audi e-Tron, which will be its biggest rival. But it is striking and eye-catching.

BMW iX Powertrain and Numbers

The iX was introduced at the IAA this year. It is set to offer up to 300 miles of range. There’s a 106.3-kWh battery pack along with the motors. The powertrain consists of two electric motors making 516hp.

This will use the standard AWD drivetrain. Of course, there’s also going to be a version with the M-tag on it. It is expected to produce around 600hp, and it will be the high-performance version of this already monstrous BMW EV.

BMW iX Interior and Tech

Also, the car was quite spacious and the interior was modern and plush. One of the notable features was the curved infotainment screen which is definitely one of a kind. Uniquely, the steering wheel is also hexagonal in shape.

You get an insane eighteen-speaker sound system as standard. This can be upgraded to add 12 more speakers! There’s a 14.9-inch infotainment system combined with a 12.3-inch gauge cluster.

Also included will be high-tech safety features such as automated emergency braking and alerts for lane departure. Attempting to follow in the footsteps of Tesla, you’ll also get a semi-autonomous driving mode.

Verdict

As time goes by, we’ll definitely hear about the other tech in this car. Till now, it’s an amazing addition to the BMW lineup. It also shows that the German giants are heading in the right direction.
