There are many definitions of what’s GOOD, (or BAD, or GREAT):
GOOD is what I like
There are some people who seem to think that their POV is the only one that there should be. That we ought to like and do the things they like and do; that we should all obey their rules and follow their paths, as if the destiny had been revealed to them.
They’re the ones who hate other people’s musical preferences, who demise 3 out every 4 films that get released, who dislike everything that doesn’t relate to their view of the world and its inhabitants. We all know quite a lot of people who fall in this category. They are the judges.
GOOD is what I’m told to like
There is a much more dangerous kind of people: those who obey blindly. Those who believe everything that is told to them by any superior being, be it their Government, their Boss, their Religion… etc. They simply nod and agree without giving any second thoughts: for them, good is what they are told to agree with.
They are dangerous because they follow. They gather together, and they push forward. Relentlessly. Unquestioning. They are the lobbies, the Al-Qaedas, the political parties. They are the obeyers.
GOOD is what it’s expensive
Other people believe that personal preferences don’t matter. They firmly support the $: good is that which costs more money. Faster cars. Shinier necklaces. Bigger boats, and the like. Cheap things, like a cup of cofee on a rainy sunday, don’t matter. Nothing that can be bought by the masses is good enough: it has to be exclusive.
They are the big managers, the angry bosses, the big names of the industry you’re working at. They are those who rule upon the obeyers and are loathed by the judges. They are the rulers.
GOOD is what it’s free
Yet another kind of people shout against the dollar signs: they refuse to pay for anything, arguing that everything good sould be free for all. They live by the day, in denial of the big numbers. They wait for the ruler’s decline, and fight against them. They bask in the little things, and find joy whenever they go.
They are those who plant their own food, or those who fight against the system. They are those who pose a threat, but also those who simply don’t agree with the rulers. They are the rebels.
