Sonnenaufgang
As Nature's eyelids rise and sleepers wake
From dreams no longer dreamt; they fade away,
To lay in night's recesses; dark, opaque,
Now slinking from the birthing light of day.
As fingers seek, touch lips of yawning skies,
And with a kiss, they heighten morn's desire
Now wakened by her sweet chromatic sighs,
Caressing soft horizons, climbing higher.
The smile that wins and eyes reflecting light
With colors of the morn in softened tones,
Enticing day to swift farewell the night,
Oblivious to all that dark bemoans.
In loving whispers, singing morning psalms,
I kiss the dawn, embraced within my arms.
